Couple of Matches

Fundraising is often conducted by small organizations or groups of people that are associated to a larger organization or cause. Many people are starting their own fundraisers to honour a family member or friend - for example, cancer patients.

Couple of Matches is a solution to fundraising. It allows organizations to provide people with the necessary tools to conduct a successful fundraiser. Couple of Matches is best suited for organizations such as the Canadian Blood Society and the Canadian Cancer Society, as Couple of Matches tries to bring awareness about blood types and the need for people to donate blood for accident victims or hospital patients.

Because Couple of Matches aims to bring awareness to blood donations (matching people with donors), each package contains two fundraising shirts. Once the shirts are removed the package can be used as a donation box. The package was specifically designed so that every part could be utilized a second time.

Typography is the main design point with many panels featuring no imagery, only rectangular elements and bold lines to reference the slab serif font. The front cover highlights the design's overall minimal feel, yet impactful presence.

The inside front cover of the package can be re-purposed into two hangers by cutting along the black outlines. This provides a means of displaying or storing the shirts provided in the package when not being worn. In addition, by cutting along the white large rectangular outline, the inside cover transforms into a picture frame. Ideally, a picture of the fundraising team or team's motivation – i.e., in dedication to a love one – would be attached to personalize the fundraising event.

The shirts would be held within the money box of the package found on the inside back cover. The inside back cover of each package features a different infographic educating the public on facts about blood donations and blood types.

The back cover indicates how the package can be re-purposed. The bottom portion of the panel can be cut off to de-attach the money box. Fundraising dates and totals can be recorded on money boxes for organization purposes.
